Welcome! to My Camp Grimes, Mecklenburg County Council's online summer camp information site. One of North Carolina's finest Boy Scout Camps, Camp Grimes is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Camp Grimes is part of the Mecklenburg Scout Reservation and is owned and operated by the Mecklenburg County Council, Boy Scouts of America, Charlotte NC.

From the Camp Director

In 2016, we will be celebrating our 40th year in service as a summer camp destination. We hope your Troop will join us next summer in the foothills of North Carolina. Sign up online to reserve your campsite today. We're planning many special events to coincide with Camp Grimes' 40th birthday. We'll be inviting former camp staff back to visit us throughout the summer and the patch will a throwback patch to 1976 when the first summer camp was held at Grimes.

We are excited to begin planning for our 2016 Summer Camp Season. Our 2016 Summer Camp Leaders' meeting is scheduled for February 18, 2016, beginning at 6 p.m. at our council service center. You'll see more information and an RSVP for this meeting shortly after the first of the year. The greatest asset any camp has is the strength and continuity of its staff. Camp Grimes has both. If you have Scouts or Venturers that would like to work on camp staff at Camp Grimes, have go to the following link and fill out an online application. We will start interviewing prospective staff members in February and March

In order to continue to deliver a great program, it sometimes becomes necessary to raise our camp fees. This also is designed to help offset the continued rising cost of providing a great summer camp experience. To that end, our camp fees for 2016 will be $280 for in council units and $300 for our out-of-council friends. Program fees for certain merit badges and/or programs will not change.
